Description

Chess is a strategic board game played between two players on an 8×8 square board. Here’s a clear description:
Basic Setup
The board has 64 squares, alternating light and dark.
Each player starts with 16 pieces:
1 King
1 Queen
2 Rooks
2 Bishops
2 Knights
8 Pawns
Objective
The goal is to checkmate your opponent’s king—this means the king is under attack and cannot escape capture.
How Pieces Move
King: One square in any direction.
